1946
Henry Melzer returns home from WWII. With extraordinary linguist ability, speaking a multitude of languages, Henry becomes a partner in Remco International, an import/export firm, buying and selling houseware products from around the world.
1960
Remco opens its first stocking distribution center in Puerto Rico.
1971
Vandel International is formed by Henry Melzer and associates, specializing in distributing houseware products to domestic retailers. Henry’s son, Steven joins the firm.
1975-1985
Vandel continues its expansion, opening four distribution centers across the country.
1991
Epoca is founded by Steven, concentrating on Italian made imports.
1994
Epoca obtains the North American distribution for Ballarini, an international recognized cookware brand, along with other famous Italian houseware brands.
1995
Steven founds Primula and begins distribution of espresso coffee makers under this brand.
2000
Epoca expands its distribution facility and pushes forward with technology initiatives to make the facility more efficient.
2005
Brian Melzer, Steven’s son, joins Epoca focusing on increasing the Primula product selection.
2007
Primula Tea experiences a large growth. Primula becomes the world’s largest purveyor of flowering teas.
2008
Epoca takes its cookware manufacturing expertise to China and Ecolution Cookware is founded.
2009
Epoca continues to expand its presence in China, opening two regional offices.
2010
Primula Cafe is created, bringing to life a store within a store concept. This merchandising concept is embraced by Macy's Department Stores and other culinary specialty shops.
2011
Epoca celebrates its 20th Anniversary.
